Athletics
In Athletics there are four different events track, field, combined and road events which are played
at the olympics.

Track events:
Track events are races where racers race on a track which you run to win gold. There are sprint races where you run 200 meters. Middle distance and long distance are the same but middle distance is two laps around a 400m track and long distance is twenty five laps. Hurdles is when you jump over stands or obstacles. Relays is where athletes race in teams passing batons every 100m the athletes run.

Field events:
Field events are events that are played on field like jumping and throwing events. High jump and long jump are similar to each other but long jump is where you have to jump across a long sandpit and High jump is where you jump over a pole. Pole vault is where athletes must use a pole to jump over as high as they can with out knocking the pole. Also there are lots of other events like throwing events like discus/shot put and javelin they are all throwing events.

Medal events:

I nga Harirei

I nga harirei 2 weeks after tauhou my whanau and went swimming at lee valley in Brightwater.
Because Mum wanted to swim somewhere else instead of the usual spot at Maitai The Blackhole
or Tahunanui Moana because of the flooding in the sewage pipes. It was a very wera day so Mum
went to Brightwater. As we arrived there alot of the locals and Travellers went swimming there.
I haere ahau ehoa haere ki te kaukau my mum said. My whanau and I made some friends well
my mum did with a few wasted people and alot of the kids as well.   While we were there we ran
to the cliffs and we saw that we could run and jump off into the River. Soon the sun started going down
and the water started going cold. After a long day of swimming the water had cooled me down.
Now I was shaking in my warm fluffy towel. We left Lee Valley and started driving home.

Good narrative Canaan.  Now for a web picture.   Need to get on with the next topic.  BW

 Kapa haka ,Turangawaewae Festival
On 8th of March the Whanau classes sang songs to the people that came to enjoy the food and singing. We sang Utaina, E Te kokara,  Manawamai, Anei ra te Kura and Haere mai nga iwi.
Over all that was a fun day.

Lee valley
Lee Valley is a great scenic place, also good to have a picnic with family and friends. The water is refreshing and just waiting to cool down sweaty hot kids.  It is a great place to stop and rest

Did you know?
The Aniseed river and Lee river join to make Lee valley but the Aniseed river is colder.

Now for a picture, Canaan.
